The short version
- We never contact your employer or your school about your job search, and we never post anything anywhere.
- We do not sell your data or your phone number. There is no advertising business here.
- Your Apple, Google or phone sign-in is used to sign you in. Alerts come only if you switch them on.
- Uploads, interview answers and Scrub questions go to our AI provider only after you allow it. They are not training data.
- Delete your account and everything goes within 30 days.
What we collect
How you sign in. With Apple or Google we receive an account identifier and, unless you hide it, an email address. With phone we store the number. We never require a legal name, a home address, a license number or a date of birth.
What you tell us. Your graduation stage, target states and specialties. These exist to filter the catalog down to the programs worth your attention, and nothing else.
What you do. Which programs you watch and where they are on your board, which questions you answer and how you did. This is what powers your vitals and your recall tracking.
How you use the app. A short, fixed list of actions, such as opening a program, saving one or moving it to a new stage, each with the time, your phone type, the app version and a code your phone makes at random the first time the app opens. Never your notes, what you search for, your name or your number. We use them to learn what helps and what does not, keep them for 400 days, and delete them along with your account.
If you switch alerts on. Your phone’s notification address (or, in the web app, your browser’s), its time zone so that quiet hours fall at night where you are, your alert settings, and which alerts you opened, so that we stop pushing kinds you never open. Switching alerts off in a browser, or signing out there, deletes that browser’s address.
If you subscribe. Your plan, its renewal date and its status, as Apple or Google and our subscription service report them, and the name of a discount code if you used one. We never see your card or bank details.
How much AI you use. Every AI feature counts toward a monthly limit, so we record the cost of each request with your account, the code your phone makes at random the first time the app opens (so every account on one phone shares one allowance), and a scrambled code made from your network connection that changes every month. Your network address itself is never stored. When you delete your account, these records are no longer tied to it.
How you read the catalogue. To keep the catalogue and the practice questions from being copied, each time the app downloads them we count it against your account, with the code your phone makes at random, the same monthly scrambled code of your network, and whether it came from the app or a web browser. Never what you looked at, and never your network address. We keep these counts for 60 days and delete them along with your account. If an account reads far more than a person could, someone on our team may pause its downloads.
What you upload and ask. Lecture files and the text extracted from them, a résumé if you add one (we keep the lines read from it on your phone, not the file), the interview answers you send for feedback, the text of your answers in a mock interview, and the questions you ask Scrub.
If you answer out loud. Interview prep can listen while you answer a practice question, after you tap to start and allow the microphone. Your phone turns your voice into text on the phone itself, and the recording stays in the app on your phone (and in your phone’s own backup, if you back it up). We never receive the recording. It is deleted after 30 days, sooner once you have more than 25, when you record that question again, when you delete it, and when you delete your account. The text becomes your written answer, which reaches us only if you ask for feedback on it. In a mock interview nothing is recorded: your phone turns each answer into text, that text goes to our AI provider so Scrub can follow up and give you feedback. Scrub’s voice is made by your phone itself, or, when his natural voice is on, by our voice service from the words of his line alone (which can repeat a few of yours); you can turn the natural voice off before the interview starts.
If you join the waitlist on our website. Your email address, which button you used and the day. We use it only to tell you when the app is on the App Store. To stop a script pouring in addresses, we count tries from your connection for each hour, kept only as a scrambled code that changes every day and is deleted after two days, never as your network address.
What we never do
We do not contact employers, schools, recruiters or licensing boards about you. We do not sell or rent personal information. We do not run ads, and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites. We do not use your uploaded material to train AI models. We do not send marketing texts. If a message from us arrives, it is a sign-in code or an alert you switched on.
How long we keep it
Uploaded files are kept while your account is open so you can regenerate from them, and you can delete any file yourself at any time. Delete your account and we remove your personal data within 30 days, apart from the minimum we must retain for tax and fraud records. A waitlist address is deleted once we have sent that email, or sooner if you write to support@vibenursing.com and ask.
Your controls
Delete your account and its data from the You tab, under Account & sign-in. Turn alerts, each kind of alert, and what may go to our AI provider on or off there too. For a copy of your data, or to correct it, contact us from Help & contact us. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to restrict how we use your data, or object. We honor those requests for everybody rather than only where the law requires it.
